Art

Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Lune Valley, our school is perfectly placed to inspire creativity and wonder through art. From rolling hills and woodlands to changing skies and seasonal colours, our stunning environment provides endless opportunities for artistic exploration and expression. We believe that this rich landscape nurtures our pupils’ sense of observation, appreciation of beauty, and connection to the world around them—core foundations for developing as young artists.

We believe that art is a powerful form of self-expression and creativity that plays a vital role in every child’s development. Our art curriculum is designed to encourage curiosity, imagination and individual voice, while helping pupils to grow in confidence and skill.

With small class sizes and a personalised approach, each child is supported to explore a wide range of artistic techniques and materials, developing their own ideas and styles. Art lessons are hands-on, exploratory and joyful, allowing children to reflect, take risks, and celebrate their unique creativity.

Art at our school is also enriched by strong community and church links. We celebrate children’s artwork in school, helping pupils to see the value of their contributions through their creations.

Our experienced staff nurture artistic talent in every child, fostering resilience, reflection and a sense of pride. Through art, we empower children to express who they are, appreciate the work of others, and grow into confident, thoughtful individuals.
