Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium funding is allocated to Primary Schools as additional funding to support achievement and attainment of most vulnerable pupils.

In 2019-2020 Melling St Wilfrid CE Primary School received £5500 in Pupil Premium funding. The funding was used to provide eligible pupils with curriculum enrichment opportunities to further develop their social and emotional skills and ensure they have equality of opportunity.

This included:

  • TA support for both small group and individual work.
  • School uniform provision
  • After school club provision
  • Funded school visits and residential visits (although some were cancelled due to COVID)

Impact in 2019/2020: Outcomes for pupils improved so all in receipt of pupil premium made expected progress or better. Pupils were confident and well prepared for their next phase of education.

In 2020-2021 Melling St Wilfrid CE Primary School will receive £2720.00 in Pupil Premium Funding. This will be used according to the individual children in receipt of pupil premiums needs as follows:

  • TA support for both small group and individual work.
  • Additional focussed maths lessons
  • School uniform provision
  • After school club provision
  • Funded school visits and residential visits

The aim is that the children will achieve and in some cases exceed National Expectations and be confident and resilient in the next phase of their education.
